10x healthy snacks

You have committed to healthy eating, which is fine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but suddenly food cravings strike. Below we share ten ideas for healthy and vegan snacks.

1. A handful of nuts

Almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans, cashew nuts... Go for unroasted nuts. Make your own mix and add sunflower or pumpkin seeds.

2. Dark chocolate

Is chocolate healthy? Yes, if you go for chocolate containing at least 70% cocoa. Have two pieces with your tea or coffee.

3. Fruit

A banana or apple are easy to take with you. Or fill a tray with blueberries or blackberries.

4. Rice cakes

With hummus or a nut paste and top it with cucumber or sprouts if you feel like having something savoury.

5. Vegetables

Cucumber or cherry tomatoes. Cut the cucumber into pieces and add some salt and pepper.

6. Olives

Preferably as fresh as possible.

7. Vegetable soup

Make a large pan of lentil, sweet potato, courgette or tomato soup and freeze several portions.

8. Half an avocado

With a little pepper and salt. Are you at home or near an oven? Then you can also put an egg in the hole where the kernel was in and bake in the oven. You can find the recipe here

9. Choco nut balls

Have you ever heard of energy balls? These balls are often made from dried fruits and nuts, and they give you a boost when needed. Very easy and fun to make and very tasty!

10. Healthy Snickers

A Snickers can be so tasty, but at the same time it is a bomb of (refined) sugar and calories. Not the best choice, but it's so delicious! You can also make a healthy variant of a Snickers very easily, which contains natural sugars and good fats and which you can eat a few of without feeling guilty. We even prefer these ones!
